Superfoods that help you turn back the clock

Awareness about health and well-being has been increasing over the years. Individuals’ expectations of health and long-life have also become greater. Growing old is inevitable. Yet, one can still age gracefully by looking and feeling great!

Eating right can promote health and prevent diseases such as heart problems, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and many others. It will also slow down the ageing signs that include wrinkles, dull skin, brittle nails, and unpleasant hair quality.

It is very essential to eat wisely to get the most benefits from a daily diet. It should be rich, well-balanced, varied, and inclusive of all the main food groups. The diet should combine fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole-grains, lean meat, fish, eggs, and low-fat dairy products with an adequate amount of water to hydrate the body properly.

Although the list of “superfoods” is endless, below are five food items that help with youth and rejuvenation.

Superfood 1: Red Fruits (cranberries, raspberries, and strawberries)
Those fruits are loaded with Vitamin C and known to be some of the most powerful antioxidants to prevent diseases. They boost the immune system and keep the skin and eyes youthful.
Tip: Add raspberries to whole-grain breakfast cereals to help the body absorb iron from the cereals.

Superfood 2: Sweet Potatoes Sweet potatoes are one of the very few foods that contain both Vitamin C and E which work as antioxidants with one another to fight wrinkles and preserve sight and memory. The orange sweet potatoes are very rich in beta-carotene that keeps the eyes and lungs healthy and boosts the immune system.
